VTPA GENERAL RULES

OPERATORS

1. Must have written permission of owner or parent if under eighteen.

2. NO ALCOHOLIC beverages before or during the pull.

3. Must remain seated, be in full control, and operate in a safe manner at all times-

PULLING

1. Pulling positions will be assigned at sign up.

2. Number one will be test puller. Test puller may take pull if sled is properly adjusted

or may pull immediately, or may pull in third position.

3. All decisions on repull must be made prior to pulling away from the sled.

4. All pulls start with a tight hitch, no jerk pulls permitted.

5. Competitor is allowed two attempts within 75 ft. to start sled.

6. Operators have the option of moving starting line between classes.

7. Judges have the option of moving starting line between classes.

8. Any portion of the tractor touching boundary line during pull will result in

disqualification. Comment: This would be limited to the front or the rear tires.

There is no out of bounds once the tractor passes the full pull mark.

9. Vehicles that are being repaired or readied for pull and that misses their turn,

will pull last.

10. Vehicles must be stopped immediately on signal from track official.

11. Vehicles must be in neutral or park when hitching or unhitching.

12. NO PASSENGERS. Note: This applies to track and pit area.

TRACTOR PULLING

GENERAL

1. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental /guardian permission

2. Violation of any rule will constitute disqualification. The punishment of the violation will be out to a panel of judges (See Rule #4). Grievance will be discussed at that point, with judge’s decision being final.

3. All operators are expected to attend meeting at scales 15 minutes prior to event time.

4. Contest will be governed by three or more judges with all decisions final.

5. Judges (consisting of flagman, tech personnel, sled operator and/or pull supervisor) may stop and disqualify any operators not operating safely.

6. No pit crew or operator coaching on track.

7. Any protest against operators and/or equipment must be made by end of that class and before start of next class, and only by another operator within the class.

8. Any operator, owner, or pit crew disrupting the pull whether in the pit or on the track, will be cause for disqualification of that tractor/truck from class in question, all previous, and all subsequent classes for the remainder of the event. All trophies and ribbons will be returned to the steward immediately.

9. Spectators and other operators not entered in class are not permitted on the track.

10. Since reasonable rules cannot cover any and all eventualities, the discretion of judges will prevail, including safety, operations, equipment, good sportsmanship and common sense. Safety will be paramount.

11. Driver or operator must be in seat when vehicle is running.

12. All pulling vehicles must have a functional breakaway kill switches. This

will apply to all classes except stock antique, farm stock and street stock trucks.

13. Any loss of weights or safety equipment while hitched to the sled will result in disqualification with the exception of the test puller.

14. No moving of weights between tractors within the same class.

15. Driver will be disqualified if he or she delays contest.

16. All tractors will be teched and subject to re-teching at random at each event.

17. NOS (nitrous oxide) or propane injection fuel are illegal in all divisions INCLUDING street legal pickup trucks.

18. BRAKES - All competing vehicles must have adequate brakes.

a. Rear brakes are mandatory on vehicles that compete in the following divisions: Super Stock, Pro Stock.

b. Front brakes are mandatory on vehicles that compete in the following division: Four Wheel Drive Trucks.

c. All drivelines must have 3/8 inch steel, 360 degrees around brake components, and both ends -must be closed with 1/8 inch, or greater, steel. This rule applies to Modifieds, Modified Minis, and Trucks.

FARM STOCK TRACTORS

STOCK ANTIQUE TRACTORS

1. General Rules apply

2. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental /guardian permission.

3. Stock, out of field antique farm tractors, 1960 or older, rubber tired, standard Ag tread, set in forward rotation.

4. Steel wheels (cleated or lugged) permitted.

5. No cut or ground tires; no duals, studs or chains.

6. Two wheel drive (four wheel drive with front disengaged).

7. No alternative fuels; original equipment only.

8. Must be equipped with hood and grill.

9. No pulling from 3 point hitch or links (except for Ford Ferguson). Drawbars must be stationery in all directions.

10. Maximum drawbar height: 20” to top of fixed hitch - (clevis is not the fixed point).

11. Minimum drawbar length 18” behind centerline of axle.

12. Maximum drawbar length 36” behind centerline of axle.

13. Equipped with a hitch point with a minimum of 3” opening (standard or twisted clevis excepted).

14. Governor bypass or over speeding prohibited. 700 PTO RPM maximum.

15. If a dyno is present at event, you may be asked to hook to it.

16. Torque amplifiers only as original equipment.

17. Weighted with operator and weighed prior to class.

18. Must have working rear brakes.

19. Tractor may be entered in no more than two classes per event, once per class; no switching operators within classes. It will be official discretion to allow additional hooks if not enough participation.

20. Added weight and/or brackets securely attached to frame or wheels. None behind or above rear tires or over 24” ahead of frame. Must not interfere with hitching. None on seat, platform, footrest, drawbar, 3 point links, or moved to another tractor in same class under penalty of removal. Maximum width, 10 ft.; redi-rods or attaching bolts will NOT protrude more than 4” in heaviest weight class. Any weight lost while hitched to sled DISQUALIFIES. Suitcase weights allowed.

21. It is recommended a tractor have at least a fully charged 2lb fire extinguisher on board in reach of the operator. A functional gauge on the fire extinguisher is required.

22. Wheelie bars and Skid shoes mandatory and must meet VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in the back of the VTPA rulebook).

23. Must have working PTO, if originally equipped with one.

HOT FARM TRACTORS

1. Contact VTPA for information.

ENHANCED ANTIQUE TRACTORS

1. General Rules - see general rules that apply to all tractors

2. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental / guardian permission.

3. Safety: All tractors must have a Deadman throttle and working safety kill switch. Wheelie bars are per VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in the back of the VTPA rulebook). Design specifications, wide front ends, fenders, use of seat belts and use of rev limiters are highly recommended. All tractors must cover the clutch housing with an approved scatter safety blanket. Steel flywheels are highly recommended.

4. Draw Bar: Draw bar must not exceed 20 inches in height. A 3” opening in drawbar. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions. No clevises. There will be a dead man zone of 3” on either side of draw bar. Minimum length of drawbar is 18”” from center line of axle housing and a maximum of 36” from center line of axle housing.

5. Weights: Weights must not extend rearward beyond rear tires and cannot be more that 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward.

6. Tires & Rims: No steel lug wheels. Two wheel drive only. No duals. Any cut allowed on tires. No radial tires

7. All tractors must have side shields of at least .060” metal. Enhanced electrical systems permitted in all classes. Rev limiters are allowed. All tractors must have a positive throttle stop with fully operational governor.

8. Speed: Any gear, any speed. Shifting of TA’s allowed.

9. Engine: Tractors must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers – except two stroke GM diesels.

10. Tractors must have stock frame, transmission, rear ends and axle housing. Front axles must be safe, sturdy and similar to stock with a stock wheel base. Crank cases must bolt to transmission in a stock appearing manner, be of the same manufacturer as the original

crank case, must be the same length as the original crank case and be the same number of cylinders as the original make and model of the tractor. Heads, blocks (jugs), manifolds must be of the same manufacturer as the crank case or that of a recognized replacement manufacturer. Series engine must match series of tractor.

11. Any updraft agricultural type carburetor will be allowed. Diesel tractors may be converted to gas as long as they use gas heads.

12. Any integral plate, girdles or reinforcement devices that enhance rigidity and improve safety will be allowed. Deck plates can be no thicker than 1” material; girdles can be no thicker than 1” material; spacer plates can be no thicker than 2” combined.

13. ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE at least a 2 lb fire extinguisher on board in reach of operator. A functional gauge on the fire extinguisher is required.

14. All Enhanced Antique tractors must have air shutoff (diesel) or ignition shutoff (gasoline) that has a hookup ring at the rear of the tractor to be connected to transfer sled. Kill switch must be with 6” of center and no more than 48” above hitch. It is MANDATORY that an electric assist fuel pump be tied to the kill switch.

ALTERED ANTIQUE

1. General Rules apply.

2. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental /guardian permission.

3. Altered Antique tractors have stock appearing hood & grill for that model tractor. Tractors must be 1960 or older.

4. A tractor must pull in Altered Antique, no mixing of classes.

5. Cut tires & uncut tires are allowed.

6. Turbocharger compressor measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the inlet. An exhaust measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the outlet. All exhaust must exit through the turbo.

7. All Altered Antique tractors must have approved 6 strap SFI approved clutch blankets and removable engine .060’ side shields. Blankets must be secured in front with 2 straps on each side. Straps must be 2” wide with a maximum of 1” between the straps. Steel welded bands around bell housing will NOT be accepted.

8. All Altered Antique tractors must have air shutoff (diesel) or ignition shutoff (gasoline) that has a hookup ring at the rear of the tractor to be connected to transfer sled. Kill switch must be with 6” of center and no more than 48” above hitch. It is MANDATORY that an electric assist fuel pump be tied to the kill switch.

9. All turbo charged tractors must have 2 – 3/8” bolts installed criss-cross through the exhaust after the turbocharger.

10. Decision of the judge(s) will be final.

11. Any tractor operated in a reckless manner or having an unsafe appearance will be disqualified. Any disqualification bars a second attempt in the class.

12. All operators must wear an approved racing helmet (minimum Snell rating 90). Fire suits mandatory. Minimum requirements for fire suit with a Nomax rating of SFI 3.2A-1 (single layer). It is recommended that all tractors be equipped with a lapbelt, and it is recommended that it be worn.

13. All Altered Antique tractors must have a 2 1/2 lb fully charged dry chemical fire extinguisher mounted with easy reach of the driver. A functional gauge on all fire extinguishers is required.

14. Naturally aspirated and turbo charged tractors may have non-stock intake and exhaust manifold.

15. It is highly recommended that all Altered Antique tractors have an SFI approved clutch and flywheel. All tractors will be MANDATORY to install frame connecting ladder bars. Frame connectors must be secured adequately from final drive housing to forward of bell housing and flywheel. Frame connectors must meet VTPA criteria: able to support tractor with engine disconnected from rear housing.

16. Vehicle must have a rollover protection bar or cage that is at least as high as the top of the drivers head/helmet. Rollover protection must be fastened at least two points to the rear axle housing. Factory style flip down tops allowed. Rollover protection must be able to lift one rear wheel when pulled horizontally from the top of the bar/cage without damage to the rollbar/cage.

17. If tractor has a roll cage it is MANDATORY to use a lapbelt.

18. Wheelie bars are mandatory and must meet VTPA specifications.

19. Draw Bar: Draw bar must not exceed 20 inches in height. A 3” opening in drawbar. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions. No clevises. There will be a dead man zone of 3” on either side of draw bar. Minimum length of drawbar is 18” from center line of axle housing and a maximum of 36” from center line of axle housing.

20. Weight classes are 6500# and 7000#.

ALTERED FARM STOCK TRACTORS

1. General rules apply.

2. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental /guardian permission.

3. Altered Farm Stock tractors are stock appearing tractors with enhancements to create more horsepower and pulling ability than similar stock models.

4. Tractors with engine modifications tire modifications, or higher than rated engine RPM will be expected to enter in Altered Farm Stock tractor classes. Tractors with above modifications entering stock classes will be disqualified and not allowed to re-enter Altered Farm Stock classes.

5. A tractor must pull in Altered farm stock or stock classes, no mixing of classes.

6. No Cut tires.

7. Turbocharger compressor measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the inlet. An exhaust measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the outlet. 16. Vehicle must have a rollover protection bar or cage that is at least as high as the top of the drivers head/helmet. Rollover protection must be fastened at least two points to the rear axle housing. Factory style flip down tops allowed. 20. No narrow front ends. It is MANDATORY that all front ends are no less than 36” between front tires.

21. Weight classes are 6500#, 7500#, 8500#, 9500#, 11000# and 12500#.

STREET LEGAL SEMI TRACTOR TRAILERS

1. Need valid driver’s license. Every driver’s must present valid insurance card and current registration to registration booth for class.

2. Fair will supply hitch plate adapter for fifth wheel hook-up.

3. Follows all VTPA GENERAL RULES.

VERMONT V8 MINI MODIFIEDS

1. General Rules apply.

2. VTPA minis follow the NTPA and ASTTQ rules and guidelines for safety, competition, chassis, engines, shielding, and safety unless otherwise stated in the following rules

3. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental / guardian permission

CHASSIS:

1) Tread width (foot print) not to exceed 72 inches or 6 feet measured at the widest point of tire touching the ground.

2) No portion of tractor shall exceed 96 inches or 8 feet in length from center of rear wheels to farthest point forward on tractor (i.e. weights, tires, fuel tanks, and toe hooks).

3) Front skid plates must be one of two types. Type 1 center mounted must be a minimum of 10 inches wide with rolled edge front and rear must be a minimum of 4 inches in length and securely mounted to front axle and or frame. Must be on center. Must be equal in strength to frame rails and or front end. Type 2 inline with each frame rail (on both sides) equal in strength to frame rail material. Must be securely mounted and braced to chassis minimum of 2 inches wide and 10 inches long with minimum 2 inch curve at front of skid. Both types must extend down minimum of 2 inches from what it is attached to. Both types must be able to support the weight of vehicle with a jack.

4) Driveline shielding for drive train excluding transmissions or gearboxes must be enclosed in 5/16 inch steel minimum or 3/8 inch round in shape inside diameter not to exceed 2 inches larger than outside diameter of largest drive train item. If u-joints are used in the drive shaft application, the shielding must be 5/16 inch steel or 3/8 aluminum with a 1/8 steel insert in the aluminum. Insert to be a minimum of 6 inches in width and centered over the joint.

5) Drawbars and hitching devise to be one piece construction with a minimum of 1 inch solid steel construction. No hollow tubing allowed. The hook point is to have a minimum 2 inch and a maximum of 2 1/4 inch round hole. Material around the hole to be a minimum of 3/4 inch thick steel. Maximum height to be 13 inches to the point of hook and measured from a flat level surface.

6) Tire size is limited to 18.4 x 16.1 with a maximum of 143 inch circumference when mounted on 18 inch rim and inflated to 10 psi. The ground patch is not to exceed 19 inches on original tread

7) Wheelie Bars: wheelie bar & hitch heights same as NTPA specifications

ENGINES – CLASS A:

1) Automotive type engines. Only 2 valves and one spark plug per cylinder. Automotive engine is an engine available in a passenger vehicle. Maximum 8 cylinders, and / or replica of this engine that is able to swing and run a stock crankshaft.

2) 380 cubic inch maximum for all supercharged engines and 575 cubic inch maximum for all naturally aspirated engines, grandfather rule is in place for the ‘Aggravation’ tractor. If engine configuration (i.e. block or rotating assembly) needs to be replaced, than those components will have to conform to current engine specifications. Class A Minis follow the existing rules such as big blocks naturally aspirated engines no larger than 575 cu. in. and no superchargers. Small blocks can be supercharged up to 380 cu. in

3) Blower / Supercharger limited to 8-71 maximum supercharger size. Supercharger size is to be determined by rotor length. For 380 cubic inch small blocks with 6-71s maximum overdrive is 18 percent faster than crankshaft. For 8-71s the maximum overdrive is 10 percent faster than the crankshaft

4) If an engine is not defined by manufacturer as small block designation, that such engine is limited to 671 with 0 percent overdrive or the same speed as crankshaft (owner/driver) will have to provide valid written documented information from manufacturer as to the engine’s designation of small block). It is not up to VTPA.

5) No high helix rotors allowed. Rotors must be standard helix. Maximum of 60 degree total pitch over the length of the rotor and no modified configurations of superchargers. One supercharger per engine, no multistage or stacking of superchargers. Supercharger case width limited to 11.25 inches at its widest point, no variable speed or multi speed superchargers allowed. Supercharger must be mounted with aluminum studs only. No other stud material will be accepted.

6) Supercharger restraint consists of 4 SFI approved straps one on each corner of the engine with each strap securely fastened to the engine by its own bracket.

7) Turbos or other forms of forced induction will be look at by VTPA and determined if such configuration will be allowed to run and with what restrictions.

8) No. 5 inch bore spacing big blocks allowed.

ENGINES – CLASS B:

1) Class B Limited Minis – big blocks up to 468 cu. in., cast iron heads and blocks only. Single or dual carbureted or injected. Small blocks up to 410 cu. in. cast iron or aluminum blocks and heads allowed. Naturally aspirated. Single or dual carbureted or injected

SAFETY:

1) VTPA registered competitor driver must be in the seat at all times when vehicle is running or being started and must have complete control at all times.

2) Helmet full face Snell 90 rating or SFI rating 41.2 no modifications or alterations of the helmet are allowed.

3) Head sock or helmet skirt, single layer Nomax driving gloves, driving suit of SFI rating 3.2a- 1 minimum, 360 degree neck collar SFI spec. 3.3 or Hahn’s device, fire resistance shoes no leather boots. All protective clothing must be SFI approved.

4) Seat and driver restraint system must be securely fastened to roll cage independently mounted from chassis.

5) Roll cages to meet or exceed SFI rating 47.3

6) Vehicle must have a quick release or swing away steering wheel

7) Vehicles with on board batteries or electric fuel pumps must have a battery disconnect switch mounted at the front of tractor so that a track official can kill the power in the event of an accident

8) Vehicle must have a five point driver restraint system that is quick release and be securely fastened during competition. Failure to use restraint is grounds for disqualification

9) Vehicle must have a 2 1/2 lb B/C fire extinguisher, fully charged, with working gauge.

10) Blankets:

a. Automatic transmissions must be equipped with an SFI 4.1 blanket. The blanket must extend from rear of engine block to front of tail housing. It must be fastened forward securely with two straps on each side, one above and one below the crankshaft centerline. The blanket should have a 6” overlap. Straps must be 2” wide, with not more than 1” spacing between each strap. The opening at the bottom of the transmission must be closed by steel plate, original steel plate is accepted. All Lenco-type planetary type transmissions, excluding reverser, must have a SFI 4.1 blanket.

11) Fuels:

a. Legal fuels are: Ethanol, Methanol, Water, Diesel, Aviation Gas, Gasoline, or Propane Gas. Oxygen carriers and combustion accelerators are prohibited. Illegal fuels are intro methane, including nitrous oxide and propylene, as fuel or additive. No pressurized fuels allowed, except in UL approved pressure tanks or fuel cells.

12) Clutches and cans must have current verification papers valid for two consecutive years

13) Kill switches. Electric fuel pumps must be tied to safety kill switch.

14) Any competitor or crew member under the influence of an intoxication agent, drug or having a measurable blood alcohol content during competition activities shall be considered under the influence and be barred from any further involvement with VTPA and may face fines and or suspension

WEIGHTS:

1) Ballast & safety equipment must be secured on the tractor. If they fall off you will be disqualified.

2) Weight class – 1900 lbs driver & tractor.

SUPER STOCK 4 X 4 PICKUP TRUCKS

1. General Rules apply.

2. Automotive type V-8 engine (500 cu. in. limit). NO aluminum heads. OEM cast iron block or aftermarket OEM configured cast iron blocks.

3. Any one piece, as molded, factory four-barrel carburetor with any internal modifications allowed. A cast manufactured steel or aluminum intake manifold must fit under the factory hood line. NO fuel injectors allowed.

4. Super Stock Trucks are allowed to hook in the modified class if they meet all requirements.

5. NO MAGNETOS!

6. Electric fuel pumps are allowed.

7. Tilt front ends are allowed but no hood alterations, other than exhaust, with a maximum of 4” clearance from outside edge of the header. Hood scoops are allowed. The hood must be in the closed position while pulling.

8. A maximum of 133” wheelbase OEM manufactured frame up to a one ton chassis. From the highest point of the top of the OEM frame, the cab and body mounts can be a maximum of 3”. The centerline of the axle is to be within the centerline of a factory wheel opening with a variance of +/- 2” but can be altered for rear bumpers, front weight rack, rear axle mounting, and hitch.

9. All weight must be safely secured to the vehicle and may not extend forward more than 60” from the centerline of the front axle. NO loose weights in the cab or under the hood are allowed.

10. Transmission must be the OEM automotive type. NO allisons.

11. Any gear ratio is allowed, therefore, any Dana 60 or 70 corp. front or rear end may be used. NO planetaries are allowed.

12. Posi units or welded front and rear gears are allowed.

13. The vehicle is to be equipped with adequate stopping brakes mounted on the front wheels. Driveshaft brakes are allowed as secondary braking system.

14. The pickup box must have either a full floor that is secured down, made of wood, steel or aluminum, or may use a plastic box liner or custom made tonneau cover securely fastened. All pulling vehicles must have working left & right doors.

15. If the original body has doors, they must be on and closed as intended by manufacturer.

16. Seat belts, helmets, and fire suits are mandatory at event.

17. Front and rear OEM bumpers and tailgates are optional.

18. All vehicles will be equipped with a working white reverse light and kill switch mounted a maximum of 24” above hook points.

19. NO fuel tank is allowed inside the cab. NO fuel, fuel pump, or fuel lines are permitted inside the cab.

20. NO alcohol and NO nitrous . . . pump fuel (gasoline) only. All shielding, hitch, and drawbar qualifications must be NTPA regulation.

21. Windshields, rear windows, and side windows can be factory tinted or clear in all windows. (NO EXCEPTIONS). If lexan, it must be a minimum of 1/4” in thickness.

22. All 4 x 4 vehicles must have vertical bumpers to prevent vehicles from passing over the buckboard of the sled while backing up to hook or unhook. Bumper to extend a minimum of 8” vertically and must be of rigid construction.

23. DOT tires only. Exception: Wrangler XT. NO bar tires.

24. Throttle must be solid cable either / or linkage OEM type with 2-spring minimum.

25. NO holes in firewall or floorboards are permitted except for controls and wiring. Firewall alterations must be equal to / or better than the original OEM factory firewall and in the stock locations.

26. Engine must be in engine compartment behind radiator and in front of firewall. Engine location no further forward than centerline of engine block to centerline of front axle.

27. All 4 x 4 vehicles must have a grill in its original factory location.

28. It is required to have a fully charged 2 1/2 lb fire extinguisher on board in reach of operator. A functional gauge on the fire extinguisher is required.

29. Hitch can not be shorter than 36° of wheelbase.

30. Maximum hitch height 26”.

STREET LEGAL 4 WD TRUCKS – Pure Stock:

1. General rules apply.

2. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card for home state..

3. Must have license plates.

4. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.

5. Stock is Stock--no exceptions--motor must be correct to chassis (Ford to Ford, etc).

6. Trucks must have four wheel working brakes.

7. Tires must be DOT approved, no modifications allowed (i.e. cutting, grooving, etc.)

8. Must pull from bumper, hitch or class 3 style hitch (minimum 3” clevis with at least a 3/4” pin).

9. No solid blocking--truck must have 3 inches of workable suspension.

10. Must have stock intake, one single inlet carburetor with a maximum 1” spacer, no visual modifications. Factory fuel injection will be allowed.

11. All trucks must have legal exhaust system. (closed exhaust, headers and dual exhaust okay).

12. No aftermarket aluminum intakes.

13. No modified carburetors, no hot cams, no visual modifications. If found, you will not pull.

14. May only run stock fuel, all other fuels are illegal.

15. All weights to be in box only, no weight out front, no hidden weights--no exceptions.

16. Stock class trucks are not allowed to jump classes.

17. Stock trucks may be trailered in, but driver must be willing to take inspector out on the road with it.

18. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Rigid in all directions, no chains hanging from frames or rear end allowed.

19. When class is called driver must stay with the vehicle.

STREET LEGAL 4 WD TRUCKS – Modified Stock:

1. General rules apply.

2. MUST MEET FULL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS!!!!

3. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card.

4. Must have license plates.

5. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.

6. Aluminum intake and headers are allowed-may use a maximum 2” carburetor spacer with no visual modifications.

7. Motor must be naturally aspirated.

8. Trucks may have open exhaust.

9. Trucks may use anything for carburetors, but must use only one (1).

10. Only cast iron blocks and heads are allowed. No aftermarket blocks or cylinder heads.

11. Gasoline or racing gasoline only--no alcohol, NOS, nitro)

12. Trucks must pull from a class 3 or drawbar-hitch. Hitch must be safe (no pulling from bumper). Hitch length to be a minimum of 36% of wheel base from center of rear axle to point of hook.

13. Truck must have four (4) wheel working brakes.

14. Any DOT approved tire.

15. No solid blocking--truck must have 3 inches of workable suspension. Traction bars are allowed.

16. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Rigid in all directions, no chains hanging from frames or rear end allowed

17. When class is called driver must stay with the vehicle.

18. All weight must be safely secured to the vechile and may not extend forward more than 60” from the centerline of the front axle. NO loose weights in the cab or under the hood are allowed.

STREET LEGAL 4WD TRUCKS – Diesel

1. General rules apply.

2. Must meet full safety requirements

3. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card assigned to that vehicle

4. Must have license plate assigned to the vehicle pulling.

5. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.

6. OEM chassis with complete OEM floor pan and firewall is mandatory. Wheel tubes, back half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full factory frame.

7. The vehicle must retain the original factory wheelbase (+/-1”) and track width of the body used.

8. The engine is restricted to 6 and 8 cylinder compression ignition engines. All vehicles must have OEM engine. All mechanical injector pumps must be OEM. Engine must have been in truck from factory. Switching engines from one manufacturer to another is prohibited. Electronic modules, tuners, and aftermarket air induction systems are permitted. Engines must be governed at OEM factory spec.

9. Exhaust must exit rear of cab. Exhaust stacks are permitted. Straight through exhaust are permitted.

10. Fuel must be pump #1 / #2 diesel only. Soy / Biodiesel are permitted. OEM fuel tank is mandatory.

11. Nitrous oxide, propane, alcohol, methanol and all other oxygen and flammables are prohibited. Water injection in prohibited.

12. Turbo limited to single turbo only, unless OEM equipped twin turbo setup Turbocharger must be in original location and must be OEM turbo for the engine/truck as intended by the manufacturer. No aftermarket turbos, no ball bearing turbos, no mounting plate adapters or plumbing changes for high output turbos will be allowed in this class. Turbocharger inlet size will be checked at the tech official’s discretion. Inlet opening may not be larger than 2.50”. Turbocharger inlet hose must be removed for measuring by tech official at any time requested or vehicle will be disqualified. Must be factory original turbo size.

13. Must have OEM factory equipped transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials. Automatic transmission, after market torque converter, valve body and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are PROHIBITED. Manual transmission must be clutch pedal activated. All transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited.

14. Four wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.

15. Must have OEM front and rear suspension. Aftermarket lift kits are permitted. Traction bars are permitted. Blocking of suspension is PROHIBITED. Suspension must be workable. Front limiting straps are PROHIBITED.

16. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Reese style hitch. Rigid in all directions, chains hanging from frame or rear end are prohibited. Trick hitches are PROHIBITED.

17. Tires must be street legal tires with a DOT number on sidewall. Cut tires are NOT permitted. Dual rear wheels may be used in competition but must stay within the OEM wheel wells.

18. OEM firewall is mandatory as well as all factory installed interior, including dashboard, door panels, headliner etc.

19. It is mandatory that all Diesel Street Legal Pickup exhausts will exit 90° vertical with not more than 5° variance in any direction.
