VTPA GENERAL RULES
OPERATORS
1. Must have written permission of owner or parent if under eighteen.
2. NO ALCOHOLIC beverages before or during the pull.
3. Must remain seated, be in full control, and operate in a safe manner at all times-
PULLING
1. Random draw order, drawn at time of entry.
2. Number one will be test puller. Test puller may take pull if sled is properly adjusted, or may pull immediately, or may pull in sixth position.
3. All decisions on repull must be made prior to unhitching.
4. All pulls start with a tight hitch, no jerk pulls permitted.
5. Competitor is allowed two attempts within 75 ft. to start sled.
6. Operators have the option of moving starting line between classes.
7. Judges have the option of moving starting line between classes.
8. Any portion of the tractor touching boundary line during pull will result in disqualification. Comment: This would be limited to the front or the rear tires. There is no out of bounds once the tractor passes the full pull mark.
9. Vehicles that are being repaired or readied for pull and that misses their turn, will pull last.
10. Vehicles must be stopped immediately on signal from track official.
11. Vehicles must be in neutral or park when hitching or unhitching.
12. NO PASSENGERS.
GENERAL
1. Violation of any rule will constitute a disqualification.
2. All operators are expected to attend meeting at scales 15 minutes prior to event time.
3. Contest will be governed by three or more judges with all decisions final.
4. Judges (consisting of flagman, tech personnel, sled operator and/or pull supervisor) may stop and disqualify any operators not operating safely.
5. No pit crew or operator coaching on track except for youth classes.
6. Any protest against operators and/or equipment must be made by end of that class and before start of next class, and only by another operator within the class.
7. Any operator, owner, or pit crew disrupting the pull whether in the pit or on the track, will be cause for disqualification of that tractor/truck from class in question, all previous, and all subsequent classes for the remainder of the event. All trophies and ribbons will be returned to the steward immediately.
8. Spectators and other operators not entered in class are not permitted on the track.
9. Since reasonable rules cannot cover any and all eventualities, the discretion of judges will prevail, including safety, operations, equipment, good sportsmanship and common sense.
10. Driver or operator must be in seat when vehicle is running.
11. All single pin breakaway kill switches must be able to pivot 1eft or right of center. This
will apply to all classes except stock antique, farm stock and street stock trucks.
12. Any loss of weights or safety equipment while hitched to the sled will result in disqualification.
13. No moving of weights between tractors within the same class.
14. Driver will be disqualified if he or she delays contest.
15. All tractors will be teched and subject to re-teching at random at each event.
16. 16. NOS (nitrous oxide) or propane injection fuel are illegal in all divisions INCLUDING street legal pickup trucks.
17. BRAKES - All competing vehicles must have adequate brakes.
a. Rear brakes are mandatory on vehicles that compete in the following divisions: Super Stock, Pro Stock.
b. Front brakes are mandatory on vehicles that compete in the following division: Four Wheel Drive Trucks.
c. All drivelines must have 3/8 inch steel, 360 degrees around brake components, and both ends -must be closed with 1/8 inch, or greater, steel. This rule applies to Modifieds, Modified Minis, and Trucks.
18. Any participant caught breaking VTPA rules (general and division) will be on a 54 week suspension from pulling.
FARM STOCK TRACTORS
1. General rules apply.
2. All tractors must be stock-blocked, agricultural tractors with no visible engine modifications. Engine must be of original type or factory replacement. Original style hood and grill must be in place.
3. Drawbar height for classes under 9,000 pounds will be a maximum of 19”, and for classes over 9,000 pounds will be a maximum of 21”. Minimum length of drawbar is 22” from center line of axle housing and a maximum of 36” from center line of axle housing.
4. Drivers must provide their own hitching device or clevis with minimum 3” diameter opening for hooking. The third link of three-point hitches will not be used in any way to stabilize the drawbar. There must be a dead man zone of 18” in height and 6” wide to the top of the drawbar.
5. All weight must be safely secured to the tractor, and not to interfere with hitch. Weight is not to exceed 24” forward of the front most portion of the tractor. Any ballast or external parts lost while hooked to the sled will be cause for disqualification. No weights may be moved from one tractor to another competing in the same class during that class. No portion of tractor may interfere with sled or sled hitch during a pull. Hitch needs to be visible for hitching and unhitching.
6. All tractors with rubber tires are permitted. No sharpened or cut tires. Tire studs or chains are not permitted. Dual tires are permitted on 2WD tractors in 4WD class as long as duals are held together by at least 4 connectors. No minimum or maximum tire pressure is prescribed. In weight classes of 18,000 lbs or greater, tractor & driver can not weigh less than 1000 lbs of the maximum weight of that class. (i.e. in 18,000 lbs class, tractor & driver can not weigh less than 17,000 lbs.)
7. Turbochargers, intercoolers, superchargers, torque converters, automatic shifts, etc. are permitted provided such is original equipment.
8. All exhausts must either: (a) discharge vertically upward with a minimum 18” straight pipe or muffler in working condition or (b) discharge through a factory, underslung exhaust system in working condition.
9. Stabilizer bars or wheelie bars are required. Must meet VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in the back of the VTPA rulebook).
10. A dead man throttle is not required; however, drivers are advised that one can be easily rigged using a rubber shock strap.
11. All tractors weighed at event.
12. Maximum 700 PTO RPM on 540 shaft or 1150 RPM on 1000 shaft. Engine RPMs not to exceed 3000 rpm and governor must have stop and drop PTO limit. This RPM limit will be tested and strictly enforced. Violators will be disqualified if checked after pull and do not pass.
13. Any stock farm tractor that has eliminated factory air canister and filters will be required to run air shutoffs that can be activated from the driver’s compartment. Must meet VTPA specifications.
14. All stock farm tractors will be required to be shut off by factory ignition or throttle shut off. (Explanation: NO stalling of engines while in gear for shut off.) Will be checked during inspection or at discretion of tech officials.
STOCK ANTIQUE TRACTORS
1. General Rules apply
2. Stock, out of field antique farm tractors, 1960 or older, rubber tired, standard Ag tread, set in forward rotation.
3. Steel wheels (cleated or lugged) permitted.
4. No cut or ground tires; no duals, studs or chains.
5. Two wheel drive (four wheel drive with front disengaged).
6. No alternative fuels; original equipment only.
7. Must be equipped with hood and grill.
8. No pulling from 3 point hitch or links (except for Ford Ferguson). Drawbars must be stationery in all directions.
9. Maximum drawbar height: 20” to top of fixed hitch - (clevis is not the fixed point).
10. Minimum drawbar length behind PTO: 5” (or 22” behind centerline of axle if no PTO).
11. Maximum length behind PTO: 16” (or 36” behind centerline of axle if no PTO).
12. Equipped with a hitch point with a minimum of 3” opening (standard or twisted clevis excepted).
13. Governor bypass or over speeding prohibited. 700 PTO RPM maximum.
14. If a dyno is present at event, you may be asked to hook to it.
15. Torque amplifiers only as original equipment.
16. Weighted with operator and weighed prior to class.
17. Must have working rear brakes.
18. Tractor may be entered in no more than two classes per event, once per class; no switching operators within classes. It will be official discretion to allow additional hooks if not enough participation.
19. Added weight and/or brackets securely attached to frame or wheels. None behind or above rear tires or over 24” ahead of frame. Must not interfere with hitching. None on seat, platform, footrest, drawbar, 3 point links, or moved to another tractor in same class under penalty of removal. Maximum width, 10 ft.; redi-rods or attaching bolts will NOT protrude more than 4” in heaviest weight class. Any weight lost while hitched to sled DISQUALIFIES. Suitcase weights allowed.
20. 2 1/2 lb. b/c fire extinguisher recommended.
21. Wheelie bars and Skid shoes mandatory and must meet VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in the back of the VTPA rulebook).
22. Must have working PTO, if originally equipped with one.
ENHANCED ANTIQUE TRACTORS
1. General Rules - see general rules that apply to all tractors
2. Age: Driver must be 16 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental / guardian permission.
3. Safety: All tractors must have a Deadman throttle and working safety kill switch. Wheelie bars are per VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in the back of the VTPA rulebook). Design specifications, wide front ends, fenders, use of seat belts and use of rev limiters are highly recommended. All tractors must cover the clutch housing with an approved scatter safety blanket. Steel flywheels are highly recommended.
4. Draw Bar: Draw bar must not exceed 20 inches in height. A 3” opening in drawbar. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions. No clevises. There will be a dead man zone of 3” on either side of draw bar. Minimum length of drawbar is 22” from center line of axle housing and a maximum of 36” from center line of axle housing.
5. Weights: Weights must not extend rearward beyond rear tires and cannot be more that 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward.
6. Tires & Rims: No steel lug wheels. Two wheel drive only. No duals. Any cut allowed on tires. No radial tires
7. RPMs: Rpm’s allowed will be 130% of 1959 manufacturer’s data of 130% of that series engine: i.e.: F-30 Farmall can run 30% over 450 IHC RPM’s The NATPA RPM Chart will list maximum RPM’s allowed. If 1959 manufacturer’s data is not available then the Nebraska test chart will be used. All tractors must have side shields of at least .060” metal and a scatter blanket. Enhanced electrical systems permitted in all classes. Rev limiters are allowed. All tractors must have a positive throttle stop with fully operational governor.
8. Speed: Any gear, any speed. Shifting of TA’s allowed.
9. Engine: Tractors must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers – except two stroke GM diesels.
10. Tractors must have stock frame, transmission, rear ends and axle housing. Front axles must be safe, sturdy and similar to stock with a stock wheel base. Crank cases must bolt to transmission in a stock appearing manner, be of the same manufacturer as the original crank case, must be the same length as the original crank case and be the same number of cylinders as the original make and model of the tractor. Heads, blocks (jugs), manifolds must be of the same manufacturer as the crank case or that of a recognized replacement manufacturer. Stock original block. Series engine must match series of tractor.
11. Any updraft agricultural type carburetor will be allowed. Diesel tractors may be converted to gas as long as they use gas heads.
12. Any integral plate, girdles or reinforcement devices that enhance rigidity and improve safety will be allowed. Deck plates can be no thicker than 1” material; girdles can be no thicker than 1” material; spacer plates can be no thicker than 2” combined.
ALTERED ANTIQUE
1. General Rules apply.
2. Altered Antique tractors have stock appearing hood & grill for that model tractor. Tractors must be 1960 or older.
3. A tractor must pull in Altered Antique, no mixing of classes.
4. Cut tires & uncut tires are allowed.
5. Turbocharger compressor measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the inlet. An exhaust measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the outlet. All exhaust must exit through the turbo.
6. All Altered Antique tractors must have approved 6 strap SFI approved clutch blankets and removable engine side shields. Blankets must be secured in front with 2 straps on each side. Straps must be 2” wide with a maximum of 1” between the straps. Steel welded bands around bell housing will NOT be accepted.
7. All Altered Antique tractors must have air shutoff (diesel) or ignition shutoff (gasoline) that has a hookup ring at the rear of the tractor to be connected to transfer sled. Kill switch must be with 6” of center and no more than 48” above hitch. It is MANDATORY that an electric assist fuel pump be tied to the kill switch.
8. All turbo charged tractors must have 2 – 3/8” bolts installed criss-cross
9. Decision of the judge(s) will be final.
10. Any tractor operated in a reckless manner or having an unsafe appearance will be disqualified. Any disqualification bars a second attempt in the class.
11. All operators must wear an approved racing helmet (minimum Snell rating 90). Fire suits mandatory. Minimum requirements for fire suit with a Nomax rating of SFI 3.2A-1 (single layer). It is recommended that all tractors be equipped with a lapbelt, and it is recommended that it be worn.
12. All Altered Antique tractors must have a 2 _ lb. dry chemical fire extinguisher mounted with easy reach of the driver.
13. 13. Naturally aspirated and turbo charged tractors may have non-stock intake and exhaust manifold.
14. It is highly recommended that all Altered Antique tractors have an SFI approved clutch and flywheel. All tractors will be MANDATORY to install frame connecting ladder bars. Frame connectors must be secured adequately from final drive housing to forward of bell housing and flywheel. Frame connectors must meet VTPA criteria: able to support tractor with engine disconnected from rear housing.
15. Recommend OEM ROPS bar or SFI approved roll cage.
16. Wheelie bars are mandatory and must meet VTPA specifications (refer to diagram in back of book).
17. Draw Bar: Draw bar must not exceed 20 inches in height. A 3” opening in drawbar. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions. No clevises. There will be a dead man zone of 3” on either side of draw bar. Minimum length of drawbar is 22” from center line of axle housing and a maximum of 36” from center line of axle housing.
18. Drivers must be at least 16 years old and capable of operating the tractor. Drivers under 18 must have parental consent.
ALTERED FARM STOCK TRACTORS
1. General rules apply.
2. Altered Farm Stock tractors are stock appearing tractors with enhancements to create more horsepower and pulling ability than similar stock models.
3. Tractors with engine modifications tire modifications, or higher than rated engine RPM will be expected to enter in Altered Farm Stock tractor classes. Tractors with above modifications entering stock classes will be disqualified and not allowed to re-enter Altered Farm Stock classes.
4. A tractor must pull in Altered farm stock or stock classes, no mixing of classes.
5. No Cut tires.
6. Turbocharger compressor measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the inlet. An exhaust measurement to be measured at the face of the wheel inlet of a maximum of 3.0 inches. The wheel may be no larger than this measurement at the outlet. All exhaust must exit through the turbo.

1. Need valid driver’s license. Every driver’s must present valid insurance card and current registration to registration booth for class.
2. Fair will supply hitch plate adapter for fifth wheel hook-up.
3. Follows all VTPA GENERAL RULES.
VERMONT V8 MINI MODIFIEDS

SUPER STOCK 4 X 4 PICKUP TRUCKS

STREET LEGAL 4 WD TRUCKS – Pure Stock:
1. General rules apply.
2. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card for home state..
3. Must have license plates.
4. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.
5. Stock is Stock--no exceptions--motor must be correct to chassis (Ford to Ford, etc).
6. Trucks must have four wheel working brakes.
7. Tires must be DOT approved, no modifications allowed (i.e. cutting, grooving, etc.)
8. Must pull from bumper, hitch or class 3 style hitch (minimum 3” clevis with at least a 3/4” pin).
9. No solid blocking--truck must have 3 inches of workable suspension.
10. Must have stock intake, one single inlet carburetor with a maximum 1” spacer, no visual modifications. Factory fuel injection will be allowed.
11. All trucks must have legal exhaust system. (closed exhaust, headers and dual exhaust okay).
12. No aftermarket aluminum intakes.
13. No modified carburetors, no hot cams, no visual modifications. If found, you will not pull.
14. May only run stock fuel, all other fuels are illegal.
15. All weights to be in box only, no weight out front, no hidden weights--no exceptions.
16. Stock class trucks are not allowed to jump classes.
17. Stock trucks may be trailered in, but driver must be willing to take inspector out on the road with it.
18. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Rigid in all directions, no chains hanging from frames or rear end allowed.
19. When class is called driver must stay with the vehicle.
STREET LEGAL 4 WD TRUCKS – Modified Stock:
1. General rules apply.
2. MUST MEET FULL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS!!!!
3. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card.
4. Must have license plates.
5. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.
6. Aluminum intake and headers are allowed-may use a maximum 2” carburetor spacer with no visual modifications.
7. Motor must be naturally aspirated.
8. Trucks may have open exhaust.
9. Trucks may use anything for carburetors, but must use only one (1).
10. Only cast iron blocks and heads are allowed. No aftermarket blocks or cylinder heads.
11. Gasoline or racing gasoline only--no alcohol, NOS, nitro)
12. Trucks must pull from a class 3 or drawbar-hitch. Hitch must be safe (no pulling from bumper). Hitch length to be a minimum of 36% of wheel base from center of rear axle to point of hook.
13. Truck must have four (4) wheel working brakes.
14. Any DOT approved tire.
15. No solid blocking--truck must have 3 inches of workable suspension. Traction bars are allowed.
16. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Rigid in all directions, no chains hanging from frames or rear end allowed
17. When class is called driver must stay with the vehicle
Rules 18 through 28 are recommended:
18. All trucks with standard transmission will have a steel bell housing or will be equipped with a 3 strap transmission blanket on the bell-housing.
19. All trucks with automatic transmission will have a transmission blanket or SFI approved 360 shield extending from bell housing to tail shaft. One seven strap or 2-three strap blankets are allowed.
20. Three drive shaft hoops must be within 6” of every u-joint. Maximum 10”.
21. Axle hub guards must be a minimum or 3/16” aluminum or 1/16” steel--must cover 2/3 of hub end.
22. All trucks must have operational kill switch and will be tested before pull.
23. All kill switches must be mounted independently of drawbar, cable end must have a loop to attach to sled cable, and must be located in the rear center of truck, minimum of 14” above hitch and a maximum of 6” off center in either direction.
24. Engine side shields to be 1/16” steel, from cylinder head to oil pan. OR factory steel inner fenders (NOT cut) or side shields.
25. All trucks with standard transmission will have steel bell housing or will be equipped with a 3-strap transmission blanket on the bell housing.
26. All trucks with automatic transmission will have a transmission blanket or SFI approved 360 degree shield extending from bell housing to tail shaft, One seven strap or 2 three strap blankets are allowed.
27. Three drive shaft hoops mandatory over each shaft, 3/8” aluminum or 5/16” steel by 3/4” wide. One strap on each drive shaft must be within 6” of every u-joint maximum of 10”.

STREET LEGAL 4WD TRUCKS – Diesel
1. General rules apply.
2. Must meet full safety requirements
3. Must have valid inspection and registration stickers, insurance card assigned to that vehicle
4. Must have license plate assigned to that vehicle
5. Headlights and taillights must be in working order
6. OEM chassis with complete OEM floor pan and firewall is mandatory. Wheel tubes, back half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full factory frame.
7. The vehicle must retain the original factory wheelbase (+/-1”) and track width of the body used.
8. The engine is restricted to 6 and 8 cylinder compression ignition engines. All vehicles must have OEM engine. All mechanical injector pumps must be OEM. Engine must have been in truck from factory. Switching engines from one manufacturer to another is prohibited. Electronic modules, tuners, and aftermarket air induction systems are permitted. Engines must be governed at OEM factory spec.
9. Exhaust must exit rear of cab. Exhaust stacks are permitted. Straight through exhaust are permitted.
10. Fuel must be pump #1 / #2 diesel only. Soy / Biodiesel are permitted. OEM fuel tank is mandatory.
11. Nitrous oxide, propane, alcohol, methanol and all other oxygen and flammables are prohibited. Water injection in prohibited.
12. Turbo limited to single turbo only, unless OEM equipped twin turbo setup (2008 – up Ford). Must be factory original turbo size.
13. Must have OEM factory equipped transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials. Automatic transmission, after market torque converter, valve body and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Manual transmission must meet minimum SFI Spec 1.1 and 1.2. All transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited.
14. Four wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.
15. Must have OEM front and rear suspension. Aftermarket lift kits are permitted. Traction bars are permitted. Blocking of suspension is prohibited. Suspension must be workable. Front limiting straps are prohibited.
16. Maximum of 26” hitch height. Reese style hitch. Rigid in all directions, chains hanging from frame or rear end are prohibited. Trick hitches are prohibited.
17. Tires must be street legal tires with a DOT number on sidewall. Cut tires are NOT permitted. Dual rear wheels may be used in competition but must stay within the OEM wheel wells.
18. OEM firewall is mandatory as well as all factory installed interior, including dashboard, door panels, headliner etc.

YOUTH / ADULT GARDEN STOCK:
RULES
1. General Rules apply
2. Factory stock, commercially available. Engine, chassis and sheet metal must be from a factory produced garden tractor and maintain stock appearance.
3. Gasoline or diesel fuel only. No additives. No gasoline above super grade that can be bought at a gas station.
4. Must use OEM available, unaltered parts for engine manufactured and configuration.
a.Explanation – No fabricated intake manifolds, carburetor stand-offs, or velocity stacks allowed.
b. Carburetor must be stock, unaltered and unpolished. Air restricting venture must not exceed stock size for engine model, horsepower, and configuration.
c. No port altering, grinding, or polishing allowed. Ports must remain as cast.
5. Modifications to clutch, driveline, and transaxle assembly are allowed to help prevent breakage.
6. No welding or modifying of block or cylinder head. Cylinder head must maintain stock combustion chamber lip at head gasket.
7. Maximum bore size: .030 overbore from manufacturers standard specification. Piston must be flush or below deck of block.
8. No performance improving alterations to chassis or engine parts allowed. No billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel allowed. No welding or machining of stock cast flywheels.
a. Explanation – All factory engine shielding must be in place.
b. Explanation – Chassis may no be lengthened or altered to accept non-original engine. Must maintain original wheelbase.
9. Must have muffler – must be OEM type and OEM mounted to block. No extension after muffler.
10. Must have working PTO.
11. Engine RPM must be governor controlled. Maximum limit: 3600 RPM.
12. Diesel engines must be governor controlled to factory RPM specification. No injection pump alterations allowed.
13. Maximum hitch height: 13 inches. Must provide own clevis or straight flat plate with 2-inch hole with a dead man zone of 3 inches on each side of the hitch. Must be rigid in all directions.

17. Wheelie bars must be rigid in all directions and able to support the tractor and driver in the heaviest class. Each skid show must be a minimum of 2 inch x 3 inch or the use of 5 shoes or 2 wheels. The wheelie bars must be a minimum of 5 inches from rear most part of tire and maximum of 10 inches. The wheelie bars must also be a maximum of 5 inches from ground to bottom of skid shoes or wheels. Weights on back of tractor must be contained up to 1 inch before the end of the wheelie bars.
18. Any tractor not qualified as stock will jump to sport stock AND must conform to all sport stock rules.
19. No stock tractor competing in the stock class can move to sport stock in the same event.
20. Youth classes are for children 8 – 14 years old. All participants in this class must have a helmet.
21. Youth ages 12 and older may participate in adult classes with written parental consent. Youths must wear helmets in the adult classes.
22. All youth 8 – 14 years old must be able to handle their tractor safely by themselves.
23. A youth participating in either of the youth classes is not eligible to participate in either of the adult classes at the same event.
24. A tractor can only be used for 2 youth classes and 2 adult classes.
25. Recommend pants, shirt and full shoes, and no sandals.
26. A tractor may be entered only once per class.
27. If there are 30 or more participants in a class at an event, persons with more than one tractor in the class will be limited to only one tractor.
28. Tractors equipped with factory locking differentials are allowed to be used.
29. Competitors wishing to compete for points in the class must contact VTPA for a competition number. This number should be displayed on the side of the tractor.
30. PROTEST RULE: If a puller protests another puller, he must put up $50. If the tractor is found to be legitimate, that puller will get to keep $40 and the other $10 goes to the club. If the tractor is found to be illegal, the puller making the protest will get $40 back and $10 goes to the club.
GARDEN SPORT STOCK
1. General Rules apply
2. Engine block, transaxle housing and chassis must be OEM available in a commercial garden tractor.
3. One or two cylinder, flat head or overhead valve, naturally aspirated, cast block, four-cycle engine.
4. Flat head motor has maximum bore size .040 over manufacturer’s standard specification. Maximum total engine displacement 50 cu in. Billet aluminum heads are allowed.
5. Overhead Valve Engines rated 18 HP and below. Engine must be available in an OEM produced garden tractor. Maximum of 38.5 cu in. Maximum cylinder bore size: .030 over manufacturer’s stand specification.
a.Must retain stock cylinder head and valves or engine configuration and horsepower rating.
6. Engine components must remain in original position.
a.Original measurement from center of crankshaft to top deck of block must be maintained.
b. Stock position of valves.
7. Stock crankshaft stroke must be maintained. Piston travel must be flush or below deck of block.
8. Stock appearing carburetor or engine manufacturer required. Maximum air restricting venture limit: 1,200 inches. Airflow must be controlled by throttle shaft actuated butterfly in stock location. No air may enter intake port after 1,200-inch restriction.
9. Maximum RPM’s: 4500 governor controlled.
10. Tractor must have stock appearing hood and grill (nose piece). Switching to another factory sheet metal is permissible.
11. Chassis and transaxle must be from an OEM produced garden tractor. Stock frame length must be maintained.
12. Maximum wheelbase: 52 inches
13. Maximum distance from center of rear axle to farthest point forward: 96 inches
14. Engine and driven components must be shielded with stock shields or 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum 360 degrees.
15. Single cylinder tractors not running stock side panels need to be shielded with 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum plate opposite cam side height and width of block. This plate would need to be mounted with two bolts to the frame and at least one bolt to the head.

18. Helmet, full length pants and closed toe shoes REQUIRED.

GARDEN TRACTOR MODIFIED:
1. General Rules apply
2. Participants must be 16 years or older with parental consent.
3. Tractors may be homemade, but are limited to 8 feet in length from the center of the rear axle to the furthest forward point including weights. Maximum width of 6’6” from outside of wheels.
4. Engines will be limited as follows:
a. Automotive engines 2500cc, 4 cylinder limit
b. Non-automotive type engines (snowmobile, motorcycle, boat engines, etc) can run multiple engine combination with no limit on number of cylinders, but a total combined 1500cc limit.
5. Ignition System – any type
6. Fuel System – Carburetors or fuel injection (piston type engines). Carburetors only (rotary type engines). No oxidizers (i.e. nitrous oxide) or pressurized tanks.
7. Fuel Type – Gasoline, diesel, fuel, alcohol, octane boosters, and lead additives allowed. No other fuels.
8. Maximum Tire Size: 31 x 15.5 x 15
9. Tire tread pattern may be bar or turf type. No paddle tires. Alterations allowed.
10. Shielding requirements:
a. 1/16”metal shields must be provided over belts, chains, fans, etc.
b. 1/8” steel shields or an approved safety blanket must be provided 360 degrees around clutches (the shields must cover the area from the front of the bell housing a minimum of 4” to the rear) and automatic transmissions.
c
. 1/8” steel shields or approved safety blanket must be provided 360 degrees around automatic transmission.
d. 1/8” metal shields must be provided on both sides of engines. Each shield must be as long as the block and must extend from the top of the oil pan to the under side of the cylinders.
11. Tractors must have fenders to protect the driver from the rear tires.
12. Tractors with automatic transmissions shall be equipped with positive lockout to prevent accidental engagement of reverse gear. Safety start switch so tractor cannot be started in gear.
13. The hook hole in the drawbar must be a minimum of 2” diameter. A minimum of 3/8” material around diameter of hole. Hitches rigid in all directions with 3” on either side of the hitch as dead man zone from hitch to top of seat. No weights in the dead man zone, only the kill switch centered approximately 10 – 12 inches above the hitch in this area only.
14. Helmets and fire suits MANDATORY.

SUPER STOCK OPEN:
RULES
1. General Rules apply
2. Drivers must be at least 16 years old and capable of operating the tractor.
3. Tractor must have a stock appearing hood and grill (nose piece). Switching to another factory sheet metal is permissible.
4. Maximum wheelbase: 56 inches.
5. Maximum distance from center of rear axle to farthest point forward: 96 inches.
6. Engine and transaxle must be from OEM produced garden tractor components.
7. Engines: Must be commercially available garden tractor engine. V*Twin type configuration, Single-Cylinder OHV, Single-Cylinder flat head and opposed twin flat heads allowed.
8. Maximum engine size will be as follows: V-TWIN OHV = METHANOL 45 cubic inches, V-TWIN OHV = GAS 48 cubic inches; Single Cylinder OHV = 45 cubic inches; Flat head engines (twins and singles) 52.5 cubic inches.
9. Maximum valve size for all makes of V-TWIN OHV METHANOL engines will be as follows: Intake valve 1.325 inches – Exhaust valve 1.170 inches. V-TWIN GAS ENGINES = open valve size. Single Cylinder OHV will be 1.437 inches intake and 1.437 inches exhaust. All flat head engines will be 1.380 inches intake and 1.380 inches exhaust.
10. Valve Lift: No restrictions.
11. Cylinder Head: Must be stock appearing cast head. Opposed flat head twins and single cylinder flat heads can run billet heads. OHV V-TWIN ENGIES must run factory OEM heads with no external modifications done to the heads. Valve cover spacers allowed.
12. Carburetor: Limited to one (1) carburetor with one (1) venture with one (1) throttle butterfly. Maximum venture size will be 1.200 inches. No air entering after the 1.200 inch restriction, except for the OHV V-TWIN ENGINES must run factory OEM carburetor with a maximum venture size of 1.00 inches. No air entering after the 1.00 inch restriction.
13. Electronic Fuel Injection NOT allowed.
14. Intake Manifold: No restrictions except for the OHV GAS ENGINES MUST RUN FACTORY OEM MANIFOLD.
15. Engine Shielding Rules: 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum on external side of cylinder extending from head gasket to frame. Shield must be attached to frame at the bottom and the block at both upper corners.
16. Engine and driven components must be shielded with stock shields of 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum, 360 degrees.
17. No Fin Flywheels, along with the general flywheel shielding rules of 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum 360 degrees. NOTE: This rule can be substituted with the use of factory steel side shields.
18. Fuel: Gasoline or Methanol only. NOTE: Methanol with NO additives only. There are two U.S. Federal Grades. Grade A and AA, either grade is permitted to use.
19. No pressurized fuel tanks and NO nitrous oxide allowed.
20. Must have a “dead man” throttle. Throttle shaft must have return spring in case of a breakage in linkage.
21. All tractors must have fenders to protect driver from the rear tires. Fenders should extend at a minimum of 4 inches out over the tires. All tractors must have a least a 3 inch seat back on all seats.
22. Maximum tire size: 26 x 12.00 x 12 alterations allowed.
23. Helmet, fire suits and closed toe shoes REQUIRED for all drivers.
24. ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE at least a 2 lb fire extinguisher on board in reach of operator. A gauge on the fire extinguisher is REQUIRED.
25. ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE a kill switch to cut engine and fuel pump if tractor has electric fuel pump.
26. ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE maximum hitch height of 13 inches. Flat plate with 2 inch hole.
